STEP - 1
Open the Device Manager on Windows:
Right-click on the Windows logo and select Device Manager
STEP - 2
Locate the USB cable that comes with the cutter and connect one end to the computer and the other end to the cutter.
STEP - 3
Switch on the cutter. Device Manager will flash and install the drivers (Windows 10 or later) and you should see your cutter under Ports (COM & LPT). If you can not see your cutter or you get an error, refer to the specific cutter setup under the Cutters section on the main page. Seiki and Ukcutter Pro will not show up under the Ports, they would be listed in Universal Serial Bus controllers. Remember the number in the brackets (COM) as you will need it in the software setup.
Step - 4
Open the SCAL
Create or open your design
Go to Cutter - My cutter - Manage cutters
Select your Company/Brand and model and then select Add to the list.
Go to Cutter - Cut with Liyu (or another cutter that you have added)
Adjust the following according to your setup:
Connection: Serial (COM)
Port: COM2 (yours might be a different number, go back to Step - 3)
Click on settings
Double-check that the baud rate is set correctly. Usually, it could be 9600, 38400 or 57600.
Check that your cutter is in "Online" state and ready to receive the job from the computer. There should be speed and force displayed on the screen. If you are in origin selection you will need to exit or save your new origin before sending the job over.
Press Cut to send the job over to the cutter.
Done!
